Connecting PSO Scholarship with the Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement
Serving as a journal reviewer is an often-overlooked contribution to research and scholarship that can be beneficial for UGA public service faculty who are trying to build their scholarly toolbox. The Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement (JHEOE) is an open-access, peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal that publishes scholarship on all forms of outreach and engagement between higher education and communities. JHEOE has been continuously published by UGA since 1996 and is supported by UGA Public Service and Outreach. In this workshop, you will hear from JHEOE’s editor and managing editor about the journal and its importance in the outreach and engagement field; demystify the review process; explore ways serving as a journal reviewer can enhance your scholarship; and build confidence in your reviewing skills.
