Managing Threats to Georgia Universities for Campus Chiefs and Command
Sponsored by the University System of Georgia, Mental Health Initiative
The purpose of this seminar is to share experiences and information with supporting Law Enforcement agencies on response management methods and tactics for student crises and threats made to campus.
With the increase in mental health issues and threats of violence to our communities, campus law enforcement executives are faced with an unprecedented need manage these incidents efficiently and assess them quickly to protect the lives of community members, prevent tragedies from occurring and ensure the continuity of operations on campus.
This two-day seminar will help campus law enforcement executive staff reduce the risks to their campus by presenting resources and techniques to define and analyze perceived and actual threats of harm to self and others. Further discussion will address working with campus administration, managing investigations, and postvention evolving practices to work through a campus crisis or threat. The curriculum will include case studies and discussions with active participants from across the nation who were involved in both internal and external threats to campus communities.
