Staff Professional Development Conference

The Public Service and Outreach Staff Professional Development Annual Conference kicks off at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024. This event offers staff the opportunity to celebrate the outstanding work that PSO does across the state and provides a unique chance to network and build relationships across units.

Morning and afternoon sessions are designed to inspire professional passion and support skill development. Enjoy a delicious lunch before participating in a new option this year: Campus Exploration Activities. There’s no time for a post-lunch slump with these activities designed to highlight resources and instructive places at UGA.

During registration, participants will select a morning professional development session, an after-lunch campus exploration activity and an afternoon professional development session. The keynote and closing sessions will automatically be added to the schedule.

Additional activities will be held throughout the day to foster our PSO community.

  1. You will have the opportunity to highlight someone you know who exemplifies efforts to create a sense of community within their department, unit or across PSO.
  2. Activity cards will be provided at registration so that you can meet new colleagues and expand existing connections with colleagues across PSO. Complete the card and receive a special treat!

Cost:
The cost of the conference is supported by the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach, not by the individual.

Session Changes:
To alter your session selection or cancel your registration on or before September 12, 2024, log into the PSO Registration System with your login information. Once in the system, you can alter, update and cancel your registration.

Hotel:
You can reserve a hotel room using room group code 4625 until September 6, 2024. After that date, please call the Georgia Center to request an available hotel room under the group rate of $129, which includes parking.

Note: reserving a hotel room does not register you for the conference. Please use the red box titled REGISTER ONLINE to register for the conference.

Parking:
Limited parking is available in the South Campus Parking Deck, adjacent to the Georgia Center ($10 a day). Contact your business manager for parking passes. Parking deck rates are set by UGA Transportation & Parking Services.

Continuing Education Information:
The University of Georgia awards Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to those attending professional development sessions. A CEU transcript is available at any time upon written request. For questions regarding CEUs or transcripts, please contact questions@georgiacenter.uga.edu.
