Smart Moves: Managing Risks in Your Role

Have you or your team thought of what you would do if… This session will allow staff members to conduct their own risk assessment related to their job functions or roles in their department, unit and PSO. Risk is defined as the “possibility of an event occurring that will impact the achievement of objectives, and individuals and departments are exposed to various risks daily.”

Learning Objectives:

  • Conduct a personalized risk assessment as it relates to departmental job functions
  • Analyze risks based on probability and potential impact
  • Identify strategies to mitigate risks to improve probable outcomes in times of crisis or need

Noëlle Broadnax, senior emergency operations coordinator, UGA Office of Emergency Preparedness
Noëlle is a senior emergency operations coordinator in the UGA Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP). A proud 1995 graduate of UGA, Noëlle returned to UGA in 2012 to work at OEP and helped to establish the UGA Medical Reserve Corps (UGA MRC). She currently serves as the director of the UGA MRC, which has over 200 members from the campus and the local community. In addition to the MRC, Noëlle coordinates the university’s Business Continuity Program, assists with the university’s public health emergency planning initiatives, and directs the Prepared Dawgs student ambassador program. Noëlle came to UGA after working 14 years for the Northeast Public Health District 10 where she was the deputy emergency preparedness director.
